Wedding dresses with a train
Refined luxury, which is impossible to resist: a dress with a train makes an indelible impression and gives the bride’s image elegance, femininity and royal sophistication. A wedding dress with a train is an ideal option for special occasions; a train as an attribute of a wedding dress came into fashion back in the 19th century. After Queen Victoria was the first in Europe to go down the aisle in a white dress, complemented by a luxurious train, the girls began to dream of similar wedding dresses. In England, even there is a belief: the longer the train on the bride’s dress, the more happiness the union will bring.
Another famous representative of the British royal family, Diana Spencer, better known as Princess Diana, also chose a train with a train. The dress was embroidered with pearls and antique handmade lace, and the length of the train was 7.5 meters. By the way, Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, also chose an elegant outfit with a train for her marriage, so we can safely say that such models are held in high esteem even by monarchs.
Wedding dresses with a train: pros and cons
A train is the elongated back of the skirt, which is deliberately made so long that the dress seems to flow on the floor. The length of the train can be different: some designers contrived not only to create an original dress, but also to get into the Guinness Book of Records. In 2007, in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, the bride got married in a dress with a train, the length of which was 200.8 meters, this decoration weighed almost 100 kg. A crowd of local schoolchildren carried a train.
A year later, the Romanian fashion designer Joanna Comanescu created an outfit with a train of 1579 meters for the exhibition. However, all these records were broken by designer Gianni Molaro: the dress he sewed was complemented by a 3-kilometer train. The bride – Elena de Angelis, a resident of Naples, became famous throughout the country, 600 people carried her train.
After such a digression, let’s discuss the advantages and disadvantages of outfits with a train. The indisputable advantage of the outfit is its beauty and solemnity, the bride will look like a queen, and the variety of styles will allow you to choose the perfect option for any figure.
Now about the inconvenience. The train is not just a beautiful accessory, but also an additional load. If you want a practical option, give preference to a dress with a removable train (the accessory is fastened with special secret buttons, and then it can be removed). A small cable or accessory of medium length will cause much less inconvenience than a long one. Moreover, loops over 2 meters are suitable for weddings in a spacious church, but for a close registry office – not the best choice. When choosing the length of the train, you need to take into account the peculiarities of the figure: miniature brides should not give preference to long trains – against their background they will be simply invisible. An interesting option will be a train in the form of a tourniquet, which is neatly draped and fits along the entire length of the skirt. Ask the tailor to sew a loop at the end of the train, which can be worn on the wrist or finger – so it will be easier for you to pick it up, and the fabric flowing from the side looks magical.
If the choice fell on a medium and long train, it would be nice to have a rehearsal and try to be dressed in order to get used to it. Ask the witness to help you with the train when you get in or out of the car. During a wedding or a walk, a train can be carried by children. Be careful, avoid sudden movements and turns if you do not want to tear the fabric. It would be nice to take into account the vagaries of nature: in spring and autumn, when it often rains, it is better not to wear a dress with a long train, otherwise it may turn into a tasteless rag by the end of the day.
The train can be made of different fabrics: for a more airy image, organza, tulle or chiffon is chosen, for a tournament – satin, silk and other materials that hold well in shape. Openwork lace looks beautiful, as well as a train repeating the finish on the bodice of the dress. Models with contrasting color inserts on the train, as well as dresses with the ombre effect, look spectacular and non-standard.
Luxurious wedding dresses with a train
In wedding dresses a la “Princess”, the length of the train is almost limitless. The longer the train – the more stately and beautiful the bride seems. The main thing is not to go too far with draperies, otherwise the bride and groom will look like a puffy cloud. For a lush dress, removable trains are rarely offered, a tournament will become a more practical option.
Straight wedding dresses with a train
Dresses of direct cut are suitable only for owners of a proportional figure, since they are not able to hide even the slightest flaws.
